The success rate under MS Dhoni was evident after he took over the captaincy. A young skipper, Dhoni instilled team spirit in every player and the urge to win could be seen on every player’s face. It is actually one team woven in one thread who love to make plans together and then win matches. Whether it is on the pitch or in the green room, fun and frolic is there but the seriousness for the game has its own place. Dhoni truly believes that personal relations matter on the field so he tries to create friendly relations at all places whether on or off the field. Dhoni had a great task in hand when he was declared captain but he very well did his job and today the Indian team is at its best. Not only that, Dhoni respects all players, mostly senior players. He compliments the team after winning. The best captain is the one who can take right decisions right from the toss and then deciding the batting, bowling, fielding line up. Dhoni has the capability of taking the right decisions.
We wonder how Dhoni did it all and what is really different now. Well, the one main thing is the way things are moving in a professional manner. The young players have instilled in themselves a hunger to win every match. Self-belief and team spirit are the foremost qualities. Today’s young cricketers like Yuvraj singh, Harbhajan singh, Suresh Raina et al believe in chasing the opponents and giving them a good fight by aggressive performance. The cricketers of the Indian team believe in playing well and nothing else. When Yuvraj Singh hit 6 sixes in an over off Stuart Broad’s delivery, the crowd was enthralled. More and more wins have got them into a habit of winning which makes them stand at a respectable place. The best part of the team is that they have been consistent with their victories.
Simply put, this bunch of young players with a young and dedicated captain has emerged as the best Indian team till now.

Saurav Ganguly becoming captain again has come as a boon to the Indian cricket team for the last few seasons. Though , MS Dhoni has taken them to  new heights of success and spirit. They have found a new self belief in their capabilities. The members are enjoying like never before. It may seem very smooth and easy now, but when Dhoni began his captainship it was a big hurdle to bring in new ideas without going against the ego’s of the seniors of the team some of whom had been captains before. Dhoni set the ground rules straight in the very beginning. He made them clear both in field and outside that performance will be the only criteria for selection int0 the team. He also made a point to show respect to the seniors and their accomplishments.

So how has Indian cricket really changed? Professionalism is the one answer for it. Winning is not everything anymore, it is the only thing. The fraternity has taken by surprise by this enthusiastic team of Indian cricketers who enjoy bullying their competitors into submission. The days when Indian cricketers personified gentlemanship are past. Today’s bunch believes in aggression in its own ways. Earlier such incidents would lead to loss of concentration of the players. Now they force our players to a renewed confidence and increase the resoluteness. The epitome of such attitude would be Yuvraj Singh taking Stuart Board for 6 sixes in an over, after a tiff off with Andrew Flintoff. This team of aggressive cricket has made the Indian cricketers one of the most enthralling teams in the world. Another good feature of the team is the new found consistency. We were used to watching their performance shuttle between complete brilliance and pure mediocrity. Now the team is a strong believer of the term “Winning habit”. They fight their guts out not to lose this habit or a game.

We can say that this is the best ever Indian cricket team in the history. They have conquered all teams on their conditions in the recent past. India is now called the “team to beat”.

Not necessary to state that Cricket is well-known to be a game of gentlemen. Is it the same these days? In recent years, it’s the second time that a serious controversy takes places in England. The match recently happens between England team and team Pakistan ended with Inizi’s ban and Daryl’s ban of few matches. In another recent game between New Zealand and England repeated a controversial run out at the match’s extremely critical stage. 

Both batsmen were exhibiting their performance well and carry down the remaining score to such a stage where New Zealand can win the match just with a bit effort. The controversial run out takes places and people out there consider that as a game of gentlemen, firstly, fielders should need to respond without hitting the stumps. Lastly, thanks to the Mike for handling the situation properly throughout the post match ceremony. Mr. Collingwood ultimately apologized and Denial Vettori mentioned for keeping “high sprits for the forthcoming games. Now was it the gentleman’s behavior.   

I still consider cricket as the gentlemen’s game until and unless the Test cricket exists. First arrival of the One day international and Twenty 20 afterwards, the game is turning out more and more fascinating especially with a shortest T20 format.
