Cricket is a team game, which has evolved over the years to become one of the more respectable sports in the world. With history pointing the 16th century as the year it was supposedly born, the sport has made its way into many countries of the world, and become a sport with national importance in some of them.

There are many variations in the sport, through the concept of the game is the same- there is a team that bats and aims at making as many runs as possible, and there is the other team which bowls and fields, in an attempt to limit the number of scores made by the aforementioned team. Variations arise when it comes to the size of the playing field, the length of time that the game is allowed to go on for, and in some cases, in the number of players.

Over the many years that cricket has been around, it has undergone some evolution to make it much better and much safer. Better cricket bats and cricket balls are used, and better protective gear is availed as well. Though there are obvious differences, the game of cricket is comparable to that of baseball.
